MILES FOR SMILES SCHOOLS CHALLENGE

Looking to brighten up your ‘Daily Mile’ routine? Want to do something fun and raise funds to support other local children and young people? Sign up to Miles for Smiles Schools Challenge and get active in 2024.

Befriend a Child are inviting local schools and nursery settings to take part in their MILES FOR SMILES SCHOOLS CHALLENGE during 2024. 

Miles for Smiles offers a fun way to keep active whilst raising awareness of the work of Befriend a Child in local communities across Aberdeen City and Shire.  The challenge is simple, with only 3 key elements required to get you started: 

YOUR CHALLENGE
Move in any way you choose – cycle, jump, swim, run, skip, walk or wheel.  Just get started and keep on moving!

YOUR TIME
Give yourself a timeframe for the challenge – a week, a month or a whole school year.  Keep it real and within reason!

YOUR DISTANCE
Set a realistic goal – based on your challenge and time available, set your distance or goal. Make it challenging and fun!

YOUR FUNDRAISING
Create your fundraising page and set your target via Just Giving - we understand that not every family will be able to donate, so please set an achievable amount you would like to raise to suit your school. 

Taking on the Miles for Smiles Schools Challenge is easier than ever before and is designed to enable your pupils to take ownership of the challenge.  Our handy checklist will help pupils to work together to choose their challenge, timeframe and distance/goal.  We have also created a useful Miles for Smiles Schools Challenge pack containing graphics and copy, which can be used on your social media, website and school comms.

Please note the following Terms and Conditions before proceeding to registration:

•  Participation is welcomed by any pupil and/or staff member of any school or nursery setting.
• Registration must be completed by an authorised member of school staff.
• Our setting agrees to collect all donations from Miles for Smiles Schools Challenge and distribute to Befriend a Child either by means of JustGiving or cash/bank transfer.
• Please note that all information recorded will be used to communicate with you regarding this campaign and all data will be stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
