Apply to volunteer Volunteering is a great way to give back to your local community, explore the city and support a local child or young person. We are always looking for kind, caring and reliable people to bring positivity, and new experiences to a young person’s life. All we need is a few hours of your time once a week or twice a month for a minimum commitment of a year after training. You can help a young person to gain vital confidence and self-esteem! Your Application Step One – Contact the Organisation E mail [email protected] or fill in the form above Step Two – Informal Chat with a co-ordinator Meet a co-ordinator who will tell you more about the Organisation and what is involved Step Three – Apply Complete our very simple application and self-declaration forms Step Four – Interview Attend an interview and answer a number of questions to help us determine if you are suitable. Step Five – Attend Training Commit to four sessions of training either on an evening or weekend to prepare for your befriending/mentoring match. These are conducted in-house and provide you with an opportunity to ask questions and meet other volunteers. Step Six – Meet the referrer Meet the referrer and co-ordinator virtually who will give you further information on your child/young person Step Seven – Meet the Family You and the co-ordinator will then meet the family and of course, your child, prior to your first outing. Step 8 – Start Befriending or Mentoring Start having fun with your child! As you get started, remember our co-ordinators are always here to offer support.
