Apply to volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to give back to your local community, explore the city and support a local child or young person.

We are always looking for kind, caring and reliable people to bring positivity, and new experiences to a young person’s life. All we need is a few hours of your time once a week or twice a month for a minimum commitment of a year after training.

You can help a young person to gain vital confidence and self-esteem!

To take the first steps towards making a difference and volunteer, please fill out the form here.

Your Application

Step One – Contact the Organisation

E mail [email protected] or fill in the form above

Step Two – Informal Chat with a co-ordinator

Meet a co-ordinator who will tell you more about the Organisation and what is involved

Step Three – Apply

Complete our very simple application and self-declaration forms

Step Four – Interview

Attend an interview and answer a number of questions to help us determine if you are suitable.

Step Five – Attend Training

Commit to four sessions of training either on an evening or weekend to prepare for your befriending/mentoring match. These are conducted in-house and provide you with an opportunity to ask questions and meet other volunteers.

Step Six – Meet the referrer

Meet the referrer and co-ordinator virtually who will give you further information on your child/young person

Step Seven – Meet the Family

You and the co-ordinator will then meet the family and of course, your child, prior to your first outing.

Step 8 – Start Befriending or Mentoring

Start having fun with your child!  As you get started, remember our co-ordinators are always here to offer support.
