Intandem mentoring Funded by the Scottish Government and The Roberson Trust through Inspiring Scotland, intandem aims to support young people aged 8-14 years old who are looked after at home by their local authority or in Kinship care and on a Compulsory Supervision Order. Young people are matched with a trained volunteer mentor who spends 2 hours with them each week for a minimum of a year taking part in outings and activities to help them engage with the community, meet personal goals and fulfil their potential. Young people and their mentors enjoy a range of outings and activities with the aim of working towards achieving the young person’s personal goals, to help them increase their confidence and self-esteem and build valuable life skills. Over time a mentor and young person build a trusting and supportive friendship which can have a transformational effect on the young person and their outlook on life. If you think you could help shape the future of a local young person find out more about volunteering as an intandem mentor on our volunteer with us page.
