MILES FOR SMILES CHALLENGE

Befriend a Child are inviting local schools, nursery settings, after school clubs, holiday clubs and other clubs/groups to take part in their MILES FOR SMILES CHALLENGE during 2024. 

Miles for Smiles offers a fun way to keep active whilst raising awareness of the work of Befriend a Child in local communities across Aberdeen City and Shire.  The challenge is simple, with only 4 key elements required to get you started:

YOUR CHALLENGE
Move in any way you choose – cycle, jump, swim, run, skip, walk or wheel.  Just get started and keep on moving!

YOUR TIME
Give yourself a timeframe for the challenge – a week, a month or a whole school year.  Keep it real and within reason!

YOUR DISTANCE
Set a realistic goal – based on your challenge and time available, set your distance or goal. Make it challenging and fun!

YOUR FUNDRAISING
We understand that not everyone will be able to donate, so please set an achievable amount you would like to raise to suit your setting. 50% of all funds raised will be split between your setting and Befriend a Child.

Taking on the Miles for Smiles Challenge is easier than ever before and is designed to enable your pupils to take ownership of the challenge.  Our handy checklist will help young people work together to choose their challenge, timeframe and distance/goal.  We have also created a useful Miles for Smiles Challenge Pack containing graphics and copy, which can be used on your social media, website and comms.

Please note the following Terms and Conditions before proceeding to registration:

• Participation is welcomed by any member of any school, nursery setting or group
• Registration must be completed by an authorised member of school staff.
• Our setting agrees to collect all donations from Miles for Smiles Challenge and distribute 50% to Befriend a Child either, by means of cash/bank transfer.
• Please note that all information recorded will be used to communicate with you regarding this campaign and all data will be stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
