Befriend a Child delivers three community youth clubs on across priority areas of Aberdeen, in Northfield Community Centre, Cummings Park Learning Centre and Kincorth Community Hub, supporting over 50 children and young people over the course of a year. Our clubs run on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Children and young people, aged 5 – 17 years old, attend on a weekly basis in the evening during term-time. The clubs are run by our Youth & Group Activities Coordinator and supported by volunteers. All volunteers are part of a rota and volunteers are asked to help at least once per month, but some help more often. All three clubs are youth led, with the children and young people having a say in what activities are provided. They take part in crafts, baking, games, giving them the opportunity to build social skills and make new friends.
