‘S’ lives with his grandmother….and his two older sisters.
His mother has a drug habit and his father? No-one knows where he is………..

It’s a hard life for ‘S’ in the cramped two-bedroom council house. He would love the chance to have his friends over to play, but there just isn’t the room. He would love to finish his homework but there just isn’t the peace and quiet. He would love to hear a bedtime story but his grandmother is just too exhausted.

That’s where Befriend A Child – and you – can help.

Our service comes at a cost. Each befriending relationship costs an average of £2300 per year and we are constantly looking for new ways to raise funds for the organisation. We would welcome anyone who can contribute fresh ideas.

You can help in a number of ways:

Give a few hours to our existing
fund-raising sub committee
We have a dedicated team of volunteers who help organise fundraising events for Befriend A Child, from coffee mornings and bag-packing, to dances and quiz nights.

Establish your own sub committee
Befriend A Child would be delighted to expand the current fundraising team into new areas. Perhaps you and a group of friends would like to get together and make a difference to the lives of children in the city?

Joining our mailing list
To be kept informed of the work of Befriend A Child, why not join our mailing list and discover our forthcoming events? That way, you can get involved on an ad-hoc basis with selling raffles, packing bags or taking a collection.
