You can help in a number of ways:
- Establish your own Big Kids Group
Befriend A Child would be delighted to expand the current fundraising team into new areas. Perhaps you and a group of friends would like to get together and make a difference to the lives of children in the city and shire? Our dedicated Community Fundraiser will be on hand to help support you with establishing and running your group.
To be kept informed of the work of Befriend A Child, why not join our mailing list and discover our forthcoming events? That way, you can get involved on an ad-hoc basis with selling raffles, packing bags or taking a collection.
What Can We Offer You?
Fundraising can be very rewarding and fun! There are opportunities to help on an ad-hoc basis when we need an extra pair of hands; thinking of new fundraising ideas and organising social events.
You will have the chance to use and develop your personal attributes and skills - planning, creativity and persuasive charm! We are here to support you while allowing you the freedom to play your part in the financial future of the organisation.
The Qualities of a ‘Big Kid at Befriend a Child’
You must be a reliable and honest team worker. As a fundraising volunteer you also represent the public face of Befriend A Child and will receive induction training to help you understand the service we offer.
We want to engage all members of the community, regardless of age, gender or background – we all have something to offer! Whether you have experience working in education; you are a parent or grandparent; you have just begun your university studies or are retired and looking to put something back into the community, we want to hear from you.

The main thing is to be enthusiastic whilst not taking on more than you can deliver!
